The engine is equipped with a timing chain and direct injection, which is good news in terms of longevity. It avoids serious systemic problems, but like any direct-injection engine, it can suffer from carbon deposit build-up during frequent short trips. Slower throttle response when starting off, especially in the version with the automatic DCT gearbox when cold, is more of a characteristic than a flaw. This engine is ideal for drivers looking for a versatile and reliable powertrain for daily driving and occasional longer journeys.
